Types of Massage

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is the most popular type of massage. It includes long, relaxing strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, and shaking motions.  The techniques leave the body relaxed and rested.  Using lighter, rhythmic strokes, Swedish massages are enjoyed by people of all ages and lifestyles.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage can be one of the most therapeutic and healing massages.  Although not as rhythmic as other massage types, deep tissue massage interacts the most with the body's muscles and muscle groups.  After a deep tissue massage, sore and tired muscles often become revived and energized.  The body often feels as if it had a strenuous workout.

Hot Stone Massage

This unique massage involves the use of smooth, polished stones that are heated and placed at various points along the body. The stones are then used to do the massage instead of the massage therapist using their hands and fingers.

Raindrop Therapy Massage

Raindrop therapy uses a sequence of extremely pure, therapeutic-grade, highly anti-microbial essential oils designed to simultaneously reduce inflammation and kill the responsible viral agents. The oils are dispensed like little drops of rain from a height of about six inches above the back and massaged along the vertebrae and back muscles. Although the entire process takes about 60 minutes to complete, the oils will continue to work in the body for up to one week following treatment.

Reiki

Reiki is a healing technique that originated in Tibet and has been practiced for over 2,500 years.  It consists of the practitioner placing his or her hands upon the person to be healed.  The hand placements coincide with the seven major energy centers of the physical body.  It is believed that Reiki can relieve pain, boosts the immune system, and relieves acute problems.

Ear Candling

An ear candle, sometimes called an ear cone, is a long hollow tube tapered to a hand-finished tip that fits comfortably into the outer ear canal.  The large end of the candle is lit and the smoke created spirals down through the ear canal.  The warmth of the smoke gently dislodges foreign debris, softens old ear wax, and helps evaporate excess moisture.  Ear candles are believed to help relieve earache pain, provide relief from pressure in the sinuses, and allow the ear to naturally push out the old ear wax.
